Checking the quality of your support
Listening to you is important to us
Ian Harper, our Service Quality Director, is a member of Aspire’s Executive and works alongside our Chief Executive. He uses his lived experience of a learning disability to find out whether each person we support is happy and receiving what they need. He visits everyone, if they wish, in their home or meets them out and about. He hosts coffee mornings that are famously popular and fun!
When you meet Ian he will talk to you about what you want to do with your life and whether you have any wishes or aspirations. He can help you to work with your staff team to achieve them.
Ian will report any queries or concerns to operations managers and work with you and the staff team to resolve them. He is a helpful person to have around – he supported the tenants whose house was being redecorated to make sure they had the wallpaper that they had chosen!
Our SQD commissions peer quality checking from The Quality Company (TQC). TQC’s quality checkers have lived experience of learning disability themselves. They arrange to visit people, if they wish, or will meet them in the community. They ask questions that are based on the Care Quality Commission key lines of enquiry (KLOE). TQC reports are sent to the person supported and to our Service Quality Director. He reports on TQC statistics to our Board of Trustees.
