Volunteering with Aspire

Aspire’s volunteers make an invaluable contribution

What do volunteers do?

Our volunteers help us to encourage and support people to take the life they choose and take part in activities.

One of our goals is that people should not have to rely on paid support to get out and about, meet their friends and have fun.

Volunteers bring enthusiasm, skills and experience to us and the people we support.

Volunteering also supports you to develop your own skills and confidence – as well as have a great time as part of a great team!

You may want to be a volunteer who ‘rolls up their sleeves’ and gets stuck in…you may want to arrange and lead a specific activity or share a skill.

You may want to support someone to do something they cannot easily do on their own – perhaps to go to a football match, walk a dog, go to a gig or music festival… to the gym or for a walk in the countryside.

Whatever time you are able to give, it is always valuable to the people we support and our teams.

How do I become a volunteer?

All of our volunteers are trained so they have the skills and knowledge they need for their role.

You will need to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Aspire will pay for your training and your DBS check.

If you have some time you might offer to support people with a learning disability to live a great life, and have ideas of what you might like to do or can offer, get in touch for a chat and to arrange a visit.

Complete the Expression of Interest Forum and send it off with a click… we look forward to meeting you!
